How do I activate my Pinor tracker for the first time? +
Insert a valid SIM card with data enabled, power on the device, and wait for the GPS and GSM LEDs to turn solid. Then register the device IMEI on your Pinor Cloud account or partner platform. Full instructions are included in the Quick Start Guide shipped with every unit.
What should I do if my tracker is not reporting location? +
First, check that the SIM card has active data and sufficient balance. Ensure the device is in an open area with clear sky view for GPS acquisition. If the issue persists, verify the APN settings match your carrier and reboot the device. Contact our FAE team if problems continue.
How long does the battery last on the wireless tracker? +
Battery life depends on reporting frequency and usage mode. In standard mode (1 report per hour), the 6,000 mAh battery lasts approximately 3–5 years. In aggressive tracking mode (1 report per minute), expect 3–6 months. Enable sleep mode for maximum longevity.
Can I integrate Pinor devices with my own platform? +
Yes. All Pinor devices support open protocols including MQTT and REST API. We provide comprehensive API documentation, SDKs, and sample code for popular platforms. OEM/ODM customers can also request custom firmware protocols to match their existing infrastructure.
What is the warranty period and what does it cover? +
All Pinor devices come with a 24-month warranty covering manufacturing defects and hardware failures under normal use. The warranty does not cover physical damage, water ingress beyond IP rating, or unauthorized modifications. Extended warranty options are available for enterprise customers.
How do I update the firmware on my device? +
Firmware updates are delivered Over-The-Air (OTA) through the Pinor Cloud platform or your partner platform. Navigate to Device Management → Firmware Update, select the target devices, and schedule the update. Devices will download and install the update automatically during the next heartbeat cycle.
